By the 1980s, Schott had already become the benchmark for American motorcycle jackets — a name synonymous with rebellion, craftsmanship, and authenticity. The Perfecto 118, introduced in naked cowhide, marked a turning point for the brand. It retained the strength and design of earlier models but introduced a softer, more natural leather that aged beautifully and wore comfortably from day one.

This example was made in the USA between 1985 and 1989, during the height of Schott’s New York production era. Crafted from full-grain naked cowhide — smooth, durable, and exceptionally supple — it captures the tactile quality that makes these jackets so distinctive. The surface carries a natural sheen and rich patina that only time can create, reflecting years of gentle wear rather than heavy use. The hide has softened beautifully, draping naturally while retaining its structure and strength.

All the hallmarks of the Perfecto design are here: the asymmetrical zip front, wide lapels, belted waist, and nickel hardware that defined an entire generation of riders. Inside, the quilted nylon lining remains in excellent vintage condition, showing only light, honest signs of age. Every zip and snap works smoothly.

This jacket has been professionally leather cleaned and conditioned using our in-house formulas, developed specifically for vintage hides. The process restores suppleness and depth of tone while preserving the integrity of the original finish — allowing the leather to remain soft, nourished, and full of life.

Condition is excellent vintage throughout — supple and beautifully preserved.
