A Lee Trevor reproduction USAAF B-26 flight jacket, produced in the late 1980s and cut from heavy brown cowhide. Made in France, where Lee Trevor was producing handmade leather outerwear at a time when reproduction flight jackets were still built with proper weight and purpose. The form follows the original military pattern closely, with a functional, well-balanced silhouette and a clear emphasis on material and construction.

The jacket carries the full contract stencil to the right chest — PROJ. NO-92660R / U.S. ARMY B-26-C- / AIR FORCES SERIAL — reproduced from wartime examples and sitting cleanly within the design. Details remain consistent with the pattern, including a bi-swing back for movement, epaulettes to both shoulders, a zip-fastened chest pocket, and two large bellows pockets at the lower front. The double-grommet tab above the stencil is also present, in line with the original specification.

Lee Trevor operated out of France alongside a small number of makers producing serious reproductions for a knowledgeable market. These jackets were made with attention to material and longevity rather than volume, and this example reflects that approach.

The cowhide is dense and substantial, with a firm handle that has softened gradually through wear. The surface carries a developed patina, with subtle tonal variation across areas of contact, giving the jacket depth without appearing overworked.

Hardware is correct to the period. The main front zip retains its function, with a replaced pull fitted during its life. The right cuff ribbing carries a previous repair, neatly stitched and holding well. Both sit naturally within the life of the jacket and do not affect its structure or wear.

The interior is finished in a quilted black lining, clean and intact throughout, supporting the structure without excess bulk.

The jacket presents in very good overall condition. The leather remains strong and supple, with no signs of cracking or structural weakness. All seams are secure, the waistband retains its elasticity, and both zips run cleanly. It wears as it should.

Professionally cleaned and lightly conditioned in the workshop, handled with restraint to preserve the original surface and character of the leather.

A well-made reproduction from a period when these were produced with proper material and intent, now carrying the kind of character that only time produces.
