A fine example of Swedish wartime tailoring, this 1940s officer’s trench coat embodies the balance between utilitarian strength and refined design that defined Scandinavian military craftsmanship. Made for the Swedish Armed Forces, it was produced in the renowned leather workshops of Örebro and Malung, though unmarked, this example closely follows the officer-grade construction of those ateliers.

Crafted from dense, full-grain goatskin, the leather presents a deep natural grain with remarkable durability and weight, offering superb weather resistance and longevity. The heavy wool lining and rich brown sheepskin collar provide warmth and protection from the northern cold, while maintaining an elegant, structured silhouette suited to officers in command. Designed for both authority and endurance, this coat captures the essence of functional beauty, robust, disciplined, and dignified.

Every panel speaks to meticulous military construction: reinforced seams, double-breasted closure, shoulder epaulettes, adjustable cuff straps, and flapped hand pockets. The leather remains uniform and richly textured throughout, with no heavy patina or darkening. The lower front section shows light creasing and minor cracking that has been professionally treated and restored, as shown in the photographs.

Very good vintage condition. The leather is strong, supple, and clean, with light creasing and minor treated cracking to the lower front panel. The interior wool lining shows faint marks consistent with age and use. Cleaned and conditioned in-house to preserve flexibility, tone, and structure. A well-maintained, authentic example ready for continued use and display.
