Vintage 1940s Swedish Goatskin Leather Officers Coat Sheepskin Collar

A strong, unmistakable piece of 1940s Swedish military tailoring, produced by Albackens of Malung and cut from dense goatskin with a naturally pebbled grain. The silhouette sits between a trench and field coat, with a shorter, controlled length and a structured, officer-led presence that feels both practical and deliberate.

The leather is substantial yet supple, with a balanced surface that carries a natural depth across the panels. A rich brown sheepskin collar frames the neckline, dense and warm, sitting cleanly against the black hide. Inside, the wool lining remains intact, marked with the Tre Kronor stamp, grounding the coat firmly in its military origin.

Construction is direct and well resolved. The double-breasted front sits clean through the body, supported by a shaped chest panel and reinforced shoulders. The half belt at the back adds subtle structure without forcing the shape, while cuff straps and flapped pockets maintain its functional character. Everything feels considered and properly placed.

Professionally cleaned and lightly conditioned in the workshop, the coat has been handled with restraint to preserve the integrity of the goatskin and its original finish.

It presents in very good vintage condition. The leather remains supple and strong, with light, honest wear consistent with age. The collar is full, the lining clean, and all hardware remains original and fully functional. A well kept example that wears as it should.
