A rare find from Schott’s 1970s production, this original Perfecto 619 was crafted in hand-oiled naked cowhide, a full-aniline leather prized for its supple feel and ability to develop rich, complex patina. Unlike the heavier steerhide of the 618, the 619 offered a more pliable, lived-in comfort — yet still carried the weight and authority of a true biker’s jacket.

The deep brown finish makes this piece especially scarce, contrasting the more common black Perfectos. Over decades, the leather has matured into a striking patina, layered with creases, tonal shifts, and subtle abrasions that no reproduction can replicate. Every mark is part of its story, proof of a jacket that was worn, relied upon, and preserved.

All the hallmark details of a Schott Perfecto are present: the asymmetric front, snap-down lapels, and angled zip pockets, here fitted with original Schott-branded zippers that have been carefully refurbished and lubricated for smooth function. A removed belt and epaulettes mark the personal adaptations of a previous owner, blending seamlessly into its narrative without detracting from its power.

Inside, the lining remains in excellent order with no rips or tears, ensuring comfort and durability. Evidence of a removed back patch adds another layer of authenticity, a reminder of the jacket’s working life on the road.

Garment Measurements (Laid Flat)

  • Chest (armpit to armpit): 21"
  • Shoulders (seam to seam): 19"
  • Sleeve length (shoulder seam to cuff): 25"
  • Back length (collar seam to hem): 23"

Best suited for a size 40 (fits closer to a 38 due to 1970s proportions). Please compare with a similar jacket for accuracy.

This is more than a leather jacket — it’s a true Schott rarity. The 619 is coveted among collectors for its distinctive leather, rich patina, and scarcity, making this example a remarkable opportunity to own a piece of American motorcycle history.
