Some jackets just exist — this one has lived. Born in the late 1940s, in a Germany reshaping itself after war, this motorcycle jacket captures the raw spirit of a time when the road offered freedom, and gear had to earn its place. Made from mid-weight horsehide, it was built for riders who demanded resilience, function, and presence—and every detail reflects that mission.
Zipped chest and hip pockets, adjustable strap cuffs, and a belted waist speak to the jacket’s purpose-built design. The horsehide leather has aged beautifully, developing a rich, warm patina that speaks louder than words. Each crease and scuff adds to the story, not detracts from it.
Specialist cleaned and carefully conditioned, the leather remains supple, strong, and full of character. A machine-stitched repair at the back of the neck—likely from a torn-out hanging chain—stands as a small but honest marker of its past life. The original lining is still intact, with stitched repairs at the lower hem and a patch on the left side. No compromises. No over-restoration. Just preservation of what’s already here.
