A commanding relic from a world on the brink, this original German officer’s trench coat carries the weight of its era in every seam. Produced by Tschacke & Co. of Dresden between the late 1930s and early 1940s, it reflects the utilitarian elegance of the time—worn by Luftwaffe, Wehrmacht, and Waffen-SS officers, as well as high-ranking officials in government and police service. Designed to endure harsh conditions while maintaining a sharp, unmistakable silhouette, it’s a striking example of pre-war craftsmanship meeting military necessity.
This piece remains remarkably intact, with its maker’s label still stitched inside and its full presence preserved. The deep military green-grey goatskin has aged beautifully—heavy-grained, dense, and weather-resistant, showing natural wear that speaks to its life in the field. It fastens with a full double-breasted front, intact original buttons, and an original Rapid zipper—rare, fully functional, and highly collectible. The high storm collar with throat latch, adjustable rear belt, and large flap pockets all add to the practical yet imposing design.
Professionally cleaned and conditioned, the leather has been revived while maintaining its natural oils and surface integrity. The original silk-rayon lining remains structurally sound, with some age-related discolouration but no major repairs. Every element of this coat retains its originality—no modern alterations, no shortcuts—only authentic wear that honours its journey through history.
