Restored Icons on Screen: Revive & Restore Vintage Jackets in Netflix’s SAS: Rogue Heroes.

When Netflix approached costume designer Rachael Walsh to continue the story of SAS: Rogue Heroes, authenticity was non-negotiable. Every detail had to feel lived-in — drawn from the dust, grit, and courage of the era itself. For that, the production turned to Revive & Restore Vintage.

From our workshop in the Calder Valley, several original WWII-era and 1940s leather jackets were carefully selected for the series — each hand-restored to preserve the marks of service and time. These were garments with history: belted horsehide trench coats, German officer leathers, and field-worn jackets that once carried weight far beyond the screen.

Every piece was restored using traditional methods that honour the character of the leather — deep cleaning, careful re-conditioning, and a preservation process that maintains the authentic finish and natural patina. Nothing is replicated. Nothing is faked. Only the real thing, revived for a new chapter.

To see these jackets brought back to life through SAS: Rogue Heroes feels fitting — a continuation of their story, carried from the battlefield to the modern screen. They endure as they always have: functional, iconic, and unapologetically real.
